ABOUT YACU AMUYacu Amu Rafting is a specialist whitewater rafting and kayaking operator based in Quito, Ecuador. Our philosophy is that we can offer our guests the most rewarding experience possible by sticking to what we know and do best. And we're so passionate about what we do that we're out there doing what we love on our days off too. That passion drives a commitment to consistently run the most enjoyable, safest, and highest quality river trips available. Our energetic guide team comprises English-speaking Ecuadorian and international guides who make every effort to ensure you have so much fun you'll want to come back for more. They are proud river professionals who have been thoroughly trained in the technical aspects of river running, as well customer care, first aid, CPR and river rescue.
Our sales and reservations staff, also English-speaking rafting and kayaking enthusiasts, are trained and experienced tourism professionals with first-hand experience of travel throughout the length and breadth of their country. They're always ready to give you a prompt response to your inquiries and to assist you in designing your itinerary. Our operations and administrative support staff complement the Yacu Amu team. As with the rest of the team they are committed to providing friendly service and maintaining our standards of excellence so that your experience with us is one you will recommend to others. A comprehensive safety briefing will be given at the start of every trip and each crew will be trained in the paddling techniques needed to navigate our way down the river. We use top of the line specialized rafting equipment to ensure your safety and enjoyment. That includes self-bailing rafts, high floation life jackets, protective helmets and light weight paddles. We carry First Aid, raft repair and river rescue kits on every trip - and our guides are trained to use them! We always have at least two guides on every trip and utilize safety kayakers where appropriate. We carry a cellular telephone where appropriate for emergency communication. We aim to continue setting the standards for safety and professionalism in the rafting industry in Ecuador. Yacu Amu Rafting is fully committed to conserving the rivers and wild places we travel in. River travel in itself is a very low impact activity but we ensure our trips leave only shouts of delight on the wind and take only enduring memories.

Our raft guides and trip leaders meet the standards recommended by the International Rafting Federation, and surpass those required by the Ecuadorian Ministry of Tourism. Our kayak guides and instructors are qualified by the American Canoe Association.
