The Downriver Run (Class IV-IV+)
Looking for a whitewater challenge with a tint of history? Come run the thrilling Downriver section of the Quijos river - scene of the finale of the 2005 World Rafting Championships.
LONG RUN - ECUADOR'S LONGEST ONE DAY RAFT TRIP
THE LONG RUN Ecuador's longest one day rafting trip!
The ríos Toachi and Blanco are a fantastic introduction to the rivers of Ecuador. Flowing off the coastal side of the Andes they have some of the longest navigable sections of whitewater in the country. Combine this with the sights and sounds of the forest we pass through and you are guaranteed a day to remember.
Before setting off we will fit you with life jackets and helmets, give you a comprehensive safety briefing and train each crew in the paddling techniques needed to navigate our way down the river. Once on the river you can expect both the action of thrilling whitewater and the tranquility of drifting silently through tropical rainforests. So while you´re guaranteed to get wet you´ll also have the opportunity to be absorbed by the sounds of the forest and to see wildlife up close from our mobile "viewing platform".

THE DOWNRIVER RUN World class rafting in the beauty of the Quijos valley!
World class rafting in the beauty of the Quijos valley!
The Quijos is Ecuador's premier whitewater trip with mile after mile of class IV rapids and spectacular rainforest and basalt canyon scenery. Expect to run more whitewater in a day here than you'd do in a week elsewhere. This trip is for experienced rafters or adventurous first-timers that are confident swimmers. No wimps please!
We take on the very same rapids that challenged two hundred and fifty of the world's best rafters as they battled it out in October 2005 to be crowned World Champions. But don't panic - it was our years of experience running the Quijos that convinced us to invite them all to compete on this truly remarkable river. No-one has rafted the Quijos for as long or as often as Yacu Amu Rafting. So rest assured you can be in no better hands.
